# Connecting to Claude

> Set up the one-time connection between Claude and your Sputnik workspace

Sputnik handles document parsing and analysis. Claude is your interface to explore and discuss what's inside. To use them together, you connect Claude to Sputnik once. After that, Claude can access your projects, documents, and analysis directly from chat.

You need a **paid Claude account** at [claude.ai](https://claude.ai) to connect.

## 1. Open Claude's connector settings

Go to [claude.ai/customize/connectors](https://claude.ai/customize/connectors) in your browser.

## 2. Add a custom connector

Click the **+** button, then choose **Add custom connector**. Enter the following:

* **Name:** `Sputnik Legal`
* **Remote MCP server URL:** `https://app.sputniklegal.com/mcp/sputnik`

Then click **Add**.

## 3. Connect

Select the **Sputnik Legal** connector and click **Connect**. You'll be asked to log in with your Sputnik email. This is a one-time step.

## 4. Start chatting

Open a new chat in Claude and say something like "Connect with Sputnik." Claude will connect to your workspace and you can start asking questions about your projects and documents.

## How It Works

Upload documents in Sputnik. Ask questions in Claude. When you chat with Claude, it can browse your projects, read your documents, search across your case files, and create notes or stars on your behalf.

<Tip>
  If you skipped this during onboarding, you can set up the connection at any time by following the steps above. No progress is lost -- your documents and analysis are waiting in Sputnik whenever you're ready to connect.
